El cromo es un metal muy frágil y duro que se emplea como un enchapado que va sobre otros metales. No obstante, el cromo puede lucir sucio y opaco con mucha facilidad, por lo que es importante limpiarlo con frecuencia para mantener su brillo. / Chromium is a very fragile and hard metal that is used as a veneer that goes over other metals. However, chrome can look dirty and opaque very easily, so it is important to clean it frequently to maintain its shine.

 1.- Mezcla un poco de agua con detergente lavavajillas. Primero limpia el cromo para quitar la tierra, las marcas y la mugre, así como exponer cualquier indicio de óxido que pueda haberse formado. Llena una cubeta con agua tibia y añádele de 5 a 10 gotas de detergente lavavajillas líquido. Luego revuelve el agua con la mano para formar un poco de espuma. / Mix a little water with dishwashing detergent. First clean the chrome to remove dirt, marks and dirt, as well as expose any signs of rust that may have formed. Fill a bucket with warm water and add 5 to 10 drops of liquid dishwashing detergent. Then stir the water with your hand to form a little foam.

 

   2.- Limpia el cromo con la solución de limpieza. Sumerge una esponja o paño de microfibra en el agua jabonosa. Exprime el exceso de agua para que no gotee por todas partes. Frota el cromo con el agua jabonosa asegurándote de cubrirlo por completo. Vuelve a sumergir la esponja continuamente para limpiarla y asegurarte de que se mantengan llena de la solución limpiadora. Para llegar a los rincones difíciles de alcanzar, utiliza un cepillo de cerdas suaves empapado con el agua jabonosa. Para lograr mejores resultados, limpia el cromo cada semana o tan pronto como empiece a opacarse. / Clean the chrome with the cleaning solution. Dip a sponge or microfiber cloth in the soapy water. Squeeze the excess water so it does not drip everywhere. Rub the chrome with the soapy water making sure to cover it completely. Re-immerse the sponge continuously to clean it and make sure it stays full of the cleaning solution. To reach hard-to-reach corners, use a soft-bristled brush soaked in soapy water. To achieve better results, clean the chrome every week or as soon as it begins to dull.

 

 3.- Enjuaga el cromo. Después de quedar satisfecho con su limpieza, sumerge el cromo en el agua. Vacía la cubeta y vuelve a llenarla con agua limpia. Luego enjuaga bien la esponja, exprime el exceso de agua y vuelve a pasarla sobre el cromo para limpiar los restos de solución limpiadora. / Rinse the chrome. After being satisfied with its cleaning, dip the chrome in the water. Empty the bucket and refill it with clean water. Then rinse the sponge well, squeeze the excess water and pass it over the chrome to clean the remaining cleaning solution.

 

 4.- Limpia las manchas difíciles con vinagre. En ocasiones, encontrarás manchas o marcas que no salen con la mezcla de detergente y agua, por lo que la única forma de acabar con ellas es mediante el uso de una solución de vinagre moderadamente ácido. En una cubeta o fregadero, mezcla partes iguales de vinagre y agua. Luego sumerge una esponja en esta solución, exprímela y pásala por las manchas difíciles de sacar. Una vez que estés satisfecho con la limpieza, enjuaga el objeto de cromo con agua corriente.

Clean stubborn stains with vinegar. Sometimes, you will find spots or marks that do not come with the mixture of detergent and water, so the only way to eliminate them is by using a moderately acidic vinegar solution. In a bucket or sink, mix equal parts of vinegar and water. Then immerse a sponge in this solution, squeeze it and pass it through the difficult spots to remove. Once you are satisfied with the cleaning, rinse the chrome object with running water.

 

 

5.- Seca el objeto de cromo. Utiliza un paño o toalla de microfibra para secar el objeto. El cromo tiende a dejar manchas de agua, por lo que no debes dejarlo secar al aire.  

Dry the chrome object. Use a microfiber cloth or towel to dry the object. Chromium tends to leave water stains, so you should not let it dry in the air.
